
Nyoto is a small, intimate, and unique experiential dining restaurant based on the concepts of childhood nostalgia and love for Indian flavors and cooking techniques, with global culinary practices as its backdrop. Every dish is inspired by the chef Shadab’s moments of epiphany during work, travels around the globe, or simple meals at home. Nyoto, meaning “invitation” in Mewari, welcomes you to discover a world of unique and heartfelt creations.

After two weeks of traditional Indian fare, this was a welcome and tasty twist on the theme. Loved every dish and the setting was spectacular. Nyoto would be a welcome addition to the food scene in Melbourne. I have no hesitation recommending it and giving it 5 stars.

Possibly the best meal I had in India. It was impressive to experience traditional Indian cuisine with a subtle, creative twist that enhanced the flavors without losing authenticity. The dishes were thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.
Highly recommended if you are traveling to Udaipur. The restaurant is located on the rooftop of Hotel Castle Pichola (on Google map but the actual hotel name is shown in the photo). You’ll need to enter through the hotel lobby and take the elevator to the top floor.

From our rooftop, the day softens into sunset, and the city below shifts from warm stone to glowing lights. As night falls, conversations deepen, plates arrive unhurried, and time begins to feel generous. Our food is rooted in Indian flavours, shaped by travel, and inspired by moments. Childhood snacks, late-night staff meals, street corners, and home kitchens. Each dish is familiar at heart, but seen through a new lens.
Plates arrive when they’re ready, not rushed. Sauces are poured at the table, stories are shared across it, and conversations stretch a little longer than planned. This is not a place for quick meals. It’s a place to pause, taste, remember and leave with more than just a bill.
